December Devotional Overview:
God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name.—Philippians 2:9
This December, we will revisit a Today in the Word classic, looking at Scripture passages focused on the names of Jesus. As we study “the name that is above every name,” we hope you will come to know Jesus better and rejoice even more during this Christmas season.

Our devotional author, Brad Baurain, shared, “When our youngest child was born just a year and a half ago, my wife Julia and I decided to name our son Simeon, which means, in Hebrew, “God has heard/listened.” In the New Testament, Simeon had spent many years, waiting and praying for the Messiah. What a gift it must have been for this devout man of God to hold this baby in his arms, “a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel” (Luke 2:32). Join us as we celebrate the wonderful name of Jesus!
